Sweet story. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, and I loved the snowstorms that closed schools for the day.

That was lovely and evocative, right down to the chicken noodle soup and the snowball fights that somehow always seemed to bring tears—not to mentions, the dark, streetlight-less nights. If the clouds cooperated, the sky was full of stars! And I remember train lights in the hills of Duluth.

Thank you so much. I was hoping to evoke the feelings and memories people have about playing in the snow as a child.

You did that splendidly. People raised in Florida might be scratching their heads. 🙂

Another delightful childhood story. I loved making snowbank tunnels as a kid. What fun! You described these feelings well!

Growing up in Jamaica, I never experienced that but I could clearly visualize all the fun through your story. Sounds like you both had some fun times!

The snow was magical to me as a child. As I spent hours playing in it, I used to think that I would always play in the snow, and I couldn’t imagine why my mom or other adults weren’t outside playing in the snow.
